How to judge the quality of muffle furnace heating elements?
Kejia Electric Furnace Company teaches you some methods to judge the quality of muffle furnace heating elements:
1. Appearance inspection
- Observe whether there are obvious cracks, deformation, discoloration or ablation marks on the surface of the heating element. If there are these phenomena, it is likely that the heating element is damaged.
2. Resistance measurement
- Use a multimeter to measure the resistance value of the heating element. Set the multimeter to the resistance measurement position, and then touch the test leads to the two ends of the heating element. Compare the measured value with the nominal resistance value of the heating element. If the difference is large, it may indicate that the heating element has failed. However, it should be noted that the resistance value of the heating element at room temperature and at operating temperature will be different.
3. Temperature detection
- Start the muffle furnace and observe the temperature rise in the furnace at the set temperature. If the temperature rises abnormally slowly or cannot reach the set temperature, the heating element may be damaged or its performance has deteriorated.
4. Working sound
- When the muffle furnace is running, listen for abnormal sounds, such as crackling discharge sounds or abnormal buzzing noises, which may indicate that there is a problem with the heating element.
5. Current measurement
- Use an ammeter to measure the current of the heating element when it is working. If the current is significantly lower than the normal operating current range, it may mean that the heating element is faulty.
6. Comparative test
- If there are multiple muffle furnaces of the same model, the suspected problematic heating element can be compared with the heating element in the normal working muffle furnace to observe the performance difference.
Combining the above methods, the quality of the muffle furnace heating element can be judged more accurately.
