1. **Preparation**:
- Ensure that the equipment of the vacuum furnace is in good condition, and the interior of the furnace is clean and free of debris.
- Select a suitable sintering boat or fixture to ensure that it can withstand high temperatures and is compatible with cemented carbide materials.
- Prepare the required cemented carbide materials and ensure that their composition and particle size meet the requirements.
2. **Charging**:
- Place the cemented carbide materials in the sintering boat or fixture, pay attention to even distribution, and avoid accumulation or overlap.
- Some sintering aids or protective layers can be added to the surface of the material as needed to improve the sintering quality.
3. **Evacuation**:
- Place the boat containing the cemented carbide materials into the vacuum furnace chamber and close the furnace door.
- Start the vacuum system and gradually remove the air in the furnace chamber to achieve the required vacuum degree.
- It is usually necessary to evacuate to a higher vacuum degree to ensure that there is no interference from oxygen and other gases during the sintering process.
4. **Heating**:
- According to the predetermined sintering process curve, gradually increase the temperature of the vacuum furnace.
- The heating rate and holding time need to be optimized according to factors such as the type, shape and size of the cemented carbide material to ensure the sintering quality.
- During the heating process, the changes in temperature and pressure need to be closely monitored to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
5. **Sintering**:
- When the temperature reaches the predetermined sintering temperature, a certain holding time is maintained to fully sinter the cemented carbide material.
- During the sintering process, the temperature uniformity needs to be controlled to avoid local overheating or overcooling.
- Multiple sintering can be performed as needed to improve the performance of the material.
6. **Cooling**:
- After sintering, the temperature of the vacuum furnace needs to be gradually lowered for cooling.
- The cooling rate also needs to be controlled according to the characteristics of the material to avoid defects such as thermal stress and cracks.
- Natural cooling or forced cooling can be used, depending on the equipment and process requirements.
7. **Out of the furnace**:
- When the temperature drops to room temperature, open the vacuum furnace door and take out the sintered cemented carbide material.
- Inspect and test the sintered material to evaluate its performance and quality.
