How to clean the ceramic crucible in the muffle furnace
The black stain is formed in the ceramic crucible (sample boat) and is used in the total organic carbon analysis module of the solid sample. How to remove the stain? How to clean the ceramic crucible in the muffle furnace?
We often encounter the problem of how to clean the ceramic crucible in the muffle furnace. Today, our Zhengzhou Kejia Electric Furnace Co., Ltd. will solve this problem for you. Please check that alumina or ceramic has formed with your material at any stage, through reaction or diffusion.
Composed of any transition metal oxide or rare earth oxide, the alumina ceramic crucible reacts and heats with the material. We generally recommend trying HCl (≥25 wt%) first. If it is ineffective, then it may be worth trying hydrochloric acid + nitric acid (volume ratio 1:1; ≥25 wt%), and safety issues, suitable for aqua regia. We will require all these experiments to be performed after cleaning with distilled water.
Dry the crucible at 110 degrees for 10 hours and heat the first dry run slowly up to 1000 degrees. If the marking is due to the organic part of the carbon simply replace your boat/crucible in the air slowly up to 1200 degrees Celsius. A ramp rate of 2 degrees and a residence time of 900 degrees for 10 minutes will be good enough to eliminate solid carbon deposits in the components.
